and establishes a gastroenterology medical mission in Honduras. Dr. Jeffrey Mathews of Gateway GI has organized a medical mission to Honduras. Joining Dr. Mathews are two of his children, staff from the GI lab at St. Luke’s Hospital as well as pulmonary/critical care physicians from Barnes Hospital. Not only will they be seeing patients and treating various digestive diseases, but they are also very excited to be bringing endoscopy to the small village hospital.
Thanks to donations (a dinner auction raised nearly $25,000) of money as well as endoscopes, the team hopes to establish a clinic to be served by future medical missions by other Gateway physicians.
